Hi honey,
ReplyDeleteWe're just figuring out that we can also communicate with you through the comments section. We will still send photos from home through facebook and/or e-mail, whichever works best.
I am amazed at how well the phone connections are keeping us in touch. It's kind of awesome and funny simultaneously, when I get a text message from you while I'm at school. I tell my students, "Looks like Africa is calling!" and they get a kick out of that. Since they've been working on travel journals, our world seems more comprehensible and connected when "Africa calls." Thanks for the great geography lessons!
Love,
Mom
PS What about the dogs of Uganda?
Hi, honey. Thanks for the great reminder. I remember how thankful I was to see a clear blue rocky mountain sky on an absolutely beautiful spring day in March, 2003, just after I left the the hospital.
ReplyDeleteIt has been said that thanksgiving is the most sincere form of prayer.
Yeah!
Wow, Catie! Uganda sounds amazing so far (I'm glad you're able to post semi-regularly - reading about your trip has been fascinating). This post was particularly great, and it helped me to be extra thankful for all of the lovely thing I'm lucky enough to have! I hope everything is going well, and I can't wait to hear about your teaching experiences and new friends.
ReplyDeleteWill you be creating a flickr or anything so we can see your photos from Africa? I'm sooo curious to see what the town looks like!
Also, KC and I just started a travel blog for our time in the Czech Republic. Here's the url: http://the-prague-blague.blogspot.com/
Anyway, I love you bunchies and I hope you are having a wonderful day! LOVE!
Dear Catie,
ReplyDeleteUganda sounds fascinating! I can't wait to see some pictures... The more I read this blog, the more I realise just how much you have committed to this trip, and it's incredible. I probably never told you this in person, but you are truly an awesome individual. You are really doing such a wonderful thing this summer and I've got a ton of respect for that.
This post in particular puts into perspective just how much I've taken for granted. Even in rural China there was still access to running water. Thanks for reminding me of all the wonderful things I have been lucky enough to grow up with.
I can't wait to hear more about your adventures in Uganda. Even reading about it all is quite the experience.
Sincerely,
KC
Catie, you're doing it. Way to go woman! Journey on...
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! It's really good to hear from you all. I don't know if I actually can post any photos at the internet cafe, but I might get someone to help me with that if I run out of room on my camera. If that doesn't work, they will be up when I get back home.
